George Denison McNamara > AMA 500cc National Championship, Carlsbad, Ca. I was relegated to the "consolation" race for some forgotten reason but I was determined to make the main motos. I think they only took 3 racers from the consolation so I decided I'd play it safe and win the race! Pretty cool actually. When my 5 year old son grows up I can bore him with the details of how I, uh, won a race at Carlsbad.
George Denison McNamara > I had the privilege of racing in the 250cc Support Class at the 1980 and 1981 USGP at Carlsbad.
George Denison McNamara > 1980 USGP at Carlsbad, 250cc Support Class. Yamaha Support, YZ250G. I was testing a Moto-X-Fox dual chamber air monoshock and I think I had the air pressure a little low. Although the low pressure worked well over the sharp "curbed" hard pack of the Carlsbad track.
