1980 Nebraska Motocross : Dean Wiggins and I were on our way to a National MX somewhere and we had time to stop at an AMA National Qualifying race in Nebraska. Dean won the race and I got second. Put some money in our pockets and got back on the road.

1978 National Amateur Motocross Championship - Georgia : Sponsored by Toyota Trucks. 250cc Class. David Bailey won both motos going away. Burlington Towel factory was near by and they dumped the scraps from their terry cloth towels on the track. It was weird because the dye would make the dirt red or blue and green. I hated the track! Mechanicals in both motos didn't help matters but I finished.

1977 AMA National Amateur Championship - Virginia : Lake Sugar Tree Motocross, Axton, Virginia. David Bailey's track. 250cc Class. Rained all night prior to the race. Tweaked my knee in practice and went on to mediocre result, 9th in first moto and 20 something in the second for 16th overall. I had high hopes for a top 5 finish at this race too!
