Hangtown Plymouth, California 1976 : 2nd place in 250 intermediate. I had a great battle in both motos with Thad Friday from Southern California on a Bultaco. Thad won the first moto after we swapped the lead several times per lap. The second moto was another battle I'll never forget. I was in first place with Thad breathing down my neck and a couple turns to go when I blasted through a berm and went down! Thad got 1st overall (1-1) and I got up in time to salvage second overall (2-2). Full respect to Thad but I vowed to come back and win Hangtown someday...and I did...but sadly not at Plymouth Raceway.

Hangtown Plymouth, California 1978 : I raced 250 and Open Expert at Hangtown in 1978. Racing 2 classes at Hangtown was not allowed but they accepted my entries and nobody complained. 3rd overall in Open expert and I would have had 2nd in 250 Expert but I crashed on the last lap, doh! 4 motos at Plymouth was fun but took its toll.

Hangtown, Sacramento - 1980 - 81 : 1980 Hangtown Sacramento - 1st overall 250 expert. I'm not too proud to admit that Joey Schlag was probably the fastest racer on this day but he had some bad luck in the first moto (29th!). Evan Marcus and Rodney Smith were super fast but I managed to hang on for 1st overall 250 expert. 1981 Hangtown Sacramento - 1st overall Open Expert. I actually don't remember much about this race but somehow I won and I have the trophy to prove it.
